this is a step by step guide to using humbox for inputting channel settings
starting from scratch.

stb used humax 5400z, with nullmodem cable, program humbox 4.1 and either setting
files pet123 from www.humaxsettings.nl or my modified pet123 for h to h mounts, which i
post on this site.

download either settings file.and save.

open humbox,click on edit, options.
click on model,
change model for your own, and change system id to yours, this is found on the humax
by menu,intallation,status,stb status.
click on port tab, check the correct port is marked.
change anything else you wish
when satisfied click on ok.

now click on the menu tab.
if in England, in the uhf tuning section change pal to pal i, or whichever pal you have.
change anything else you wish.

now to the channel settings.

to upload your own settings.(for safety)
turn humax to stand by.
click on the little tv icon (upload from humax)
a banner with waiting for humax connection will appear
turn on humax with the remote
banner will change to transferring and the progress will be seen in the banner, as well
as on the tv screen, this takes some time, around 5 min depending on the channels saved.

when it is finished the banner will go and on the tv will be instructions to press the
standby key, this means the standby button on the stb. while you are doing this your settings
will be loaded into humbox.
click on file, and save as, save the file.

now to download to the stb.

                         adjusting for diqesc switch use.

keep the humbox on screen with your settings loaded.
click on tools, run another humbox.
another copy will now be on the screen.
click on file, open, navigate to the saved new settings file, for this section we will use
pet123. click on open.
click on the antenna tab on both copies
adjust the size of each humbox so you can fit the copy with your uploaded file underneath
the copy with the new file, and put them side by side so the line titled sat position of the
uploaded copy is showing to the right side and underneath the new file copy.
the copy on top will be the one in which we will change the switch settings.

still with the antenna section, in the left panel you will see

astra (a sat name)
universal (lnb)
0/12v (on or off)
22hz (tone on/off)
motorised (on/off)

A
B
C (diseqc 1)
D
box (disabled or enabled)

box
box
box
box

for diseqc switch use.
you will know which sats you are using. so highlight the first sat and looking at your own
settings look in the main section, there is a line called motorised, if there is a x there
you need to go to the box called motorised and click on it, this will take the x away, then
click A, this will now show an A under the line diqesc 1 in the main section.
do this for the remaining sats.

this inputs the switch settings from the old to the new file.
save this file.(for future reference)
at this time we will not do any channel swapping or adjusting.

turn the stb to standby.
click on the little dish icon download to humax, and the banner with waiting for humax
connection appears,
turn on stb with the remote, and progress will be shown again on the banner and tv.

HERE IS WHERE SOMETIMES IT GOES PEAR SHAPED, IF YOU SEE ERROR SYS ID, GO BACK TO THE BEGINNING AND
REDO THE BIT ON OPTIONS.

when finished turn stb on with the standby key on the stb.
you now should have the new channel list installed with your own switch settings.

hope this is of interest
